About Old Turtle

Old Turtle is 36 years old (as of 2019) DYI investor (married with 1 Turtle wife and 2 little Turtles) whom started my personal investing journey since 2006 with the main purpose of beating inflation and generating passive income for retirement.

An average Singaporean son, poor in studies from a typical Singapore education perspective, from PSLE (182) to  Normal Academic stream to part time degree to part time MBA (expected to graduate by 2021) while working full time through sheer hardwork. If not so smart Turtle can do it, so can you!

I believed if you have a strong will, you can still make it in life. Do not give up at any point of time!
My simple investment philosophy is to always try to buy asset at below NAV (Net Asset Value) or the lower the PB (Price to book) the better which also translates to a higher margin of safety (you need to make your own analysis that the company did not "cook" their books to inflate their assets) in my personal Turtle view.

I mostly used quantitative ratio found in ShareInvestor.com (I am a subscriber) and statistic to decide my investment since I do not have time to monitor the management activities.

I am semi-active (@Turtle_Investor) in the Singapore investment social media platform known as InvestingNote. (The social network platform for sharing investing / trading ideas on stock markets.)
My life philosophy is always family first and money will always be last because its just a tool for me to provide a better life for my family.

Filial piety (孝, xiào) always comes first in my personal life.
At your final moments, it is your family who will stay by your side and not your cash.

A little background profile of myself:

• Holding a full time job since year 2007 till today as a diploma holder and never been out of job before. I thanked my lucky stars.
• Did my part time degree while working full time and complete it within 4 years.
• Got married at age 30 and got 2 kids subsequently.
• Paid up my HDB at age 35.
• Has been topping my cash to my CPA MA and SA since 34 years old and on track to meet 2020 CPF FRS.
• Doing my part time MBA currently and expected to complete it in 2021.
• Not holding any senior management role, non manager and non professional like doctor, lawyers etc. Just a lucky farmer.
